Sometimes, good players will have noticed a charging player behind them and will check this hand for a check-raise or other maneuver. However, without the charging player, a good player will bet the size of the pot, or more, depend­ing on the game and the opponents. Most of all, the betting player doesn’t want the opponent in the pot with 16 outs after the flop or the turn. The good player won’t slow-play the dangerous but playable aces. If he is raised, he will make an extra large reraise, maybe all-in depending on stacks. The hand is super-playable and he wants that pot before something scary happens to its playability.

We can’t win consistently with just our share of good cards. We’ll only break even with our fair share of cards, at best. We have to be aware of the playable hand and play for profit.
